TWD Season 6 walker

TWD is back and bigger than ever. The season six episode 9 opened on Valentine’s Day and I must say it did not disappoint. Directed by special effects genus Greg Nicotero, “No way out” picked up right where the last episode ended.

Alexandria was overrun with walkers, while Carol and Morgan fought over “the wolf.” Rick, Michone, Carl and Jessie, along with her family try to escape the house and head for the armory, while Daryl, Sasha and Abraham face Negan’s men and Glenn does his best to save Maggie who is trapped.

Everything panned out in this episode, but it didn’t pan out without casualties. While no major characters died in this episode, there were major shockers and explosive moments that kept us on the edge of our seats.

Let’s begin with Daryl and his group as they face Negan’s men. The main biker does his best to shake up things by threatening the group and taking their weapons. Soon Daryl is taken behind the truck by one of the men to give up more supplies, then suddenly without warning Negan’s men explode as their body parts scatter all over. The man of the hour- Daryl Dixon comes out holding a rocket launcher and that was before the official opening of the show. By this time I’m already jumping out of my seat.

Now we are brought back to Rick and the group’s attempt to escape the house. Covered in walker guts, they head out, then suddenly Rick changes his plan and decides to try and lead the walkers out. Gabriel takes Judith to safety while the others go. The group slowly moves about within the herd. “The wolf” takes Denise as a hostage out in the commotion while Rosita, Eugine, Carol, Morgan and Tara come together. Enid and Glenn try to make it to Maggie while Daryl and the group make their way back to Alexandria.

Now darkness has fallen as Rick and his group slither their way through the walkers. Sam is suddenly spooked by the walkers as he hears Carl’s voice in his head. He can’t go on and everyone tries to convince him to go on. He is bitten and so is Jessie. She refuses to let Carl’s hand go and Rick is forced to chop it off with the ax. Ron witnesses his mother and brother’s deaths and turns the gun in his hand on Carl. Carl is shot in the eye and Ron is killed. Rick scoops up Carl in his arms and heads over to Denise’s place. Carol eventually kills “the wolf” and Morgan is left to finish the job. Denise is left with trying to save Carl as Rick truly believes that this is it for Carl. Rick goes on a killing rampage, as he makes an attempt to save what is left of Alexandria. Everyone battles the walkers with the hope of reclaiming the town. Daryl, Sasha and Abraham show up as they lead the walkers into a lake of fire created by Daryl. Carl makes it through the night and the town is reclaimed as the corpses of the dead line the streets.

This episode was filled with excitement and thrilling scenes. The cinematography techniques were great and one of the best scenes was when the camera got a shot of everyone taking a swing at a walker, then ending it with Rick taking the final blow. What a great episode, I must say that this way one of the best TWD episodes ever. I just wish this was a 90 minutes. The special effects were awesome even though I knew Greg used a combination of CG and make up to create Carl’s eye. The show doesn’t feel like it’s in the same season, it feels so fresh and that why this show is the best show on television. Stay tuned because the war with Negan hasn’t even started yet. READ THE COMIC BOOKS, THEY ARE AWESOME!

The XFILES

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are back reprising their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. This special edition, season 10 will focus on a new major investigation that questions the US government’s involvement with alien abduction. A new speculation arises as Mulder and Scully learn that what they already knew about alien abduction in the past could change the future of what it really means to be human. While Mulder and Scully uncover the truth, they will undergo a series of strange investigations that will lead them on a new journey into the world of the paranormal. So far, my love and excitement for this show has grown even more. It it bigger and better then ever. The story-line did not disappoint. The effects were great and I love the on screen chemistry that Duchovny and Anderson share. Another aspect that I really like is the open window that Carter creates for the audience which gives us a chance to see the past life that Mulder and Scully had as a family.

The new season will only feature six episodes and is back by popular demand. I am hoping that Fox will be ready to sign on to future seasons of the show. After 13 years of being off the air, the show’s ambiance feels as though it never went off. As we embark upon the new age of paranormal and extraterrestrial intrigue, the XFiles does nothing but open the doors to the real possibility that the subject matter is no longer considered science fiction but instead should be considered science fact.

The Walking Dead Season 6 Midseason Finale Review

Well last night’s MSF went out with a bang, but also raised more questions than answered. First of all the show should have been 90mins instead of the regular 60. They could have taken that 30 minutes away from Morgan’s episode so we could really get an idea of where the people of Alexandria are going.

Now we know that Deanna is officially dead and that Rick is officially the leader of Alexandria. Jessie’s house has been overrun with walkers and now everyone is on their way out to the armory. Covered in walker blood Rick, Carl, Judith, Michone, Jessie and her two boys slither their way out in hopes of getting past the walkers unnoticed. Only seconds go by until Jessie’s youngest son starts to call for his mom, which will probably alert the walkers in the midseason premiere. But in the meantime we all left wondering (those of us that have read the comic books, know that this is the moment where Jessie and her sons die, and Carl gets hit in the eye with a stray bullet.)

Glenn and Enid are on their way back to Alexandria, and Glenn sees the devastation of the heard. He spots Maggie and tries to think of a way to get to her. Unfortunately we only see Glenn for the last 5 minutes of the show, so we know that he and Maggie’s story-line is not over yet.

The intensity between Morgan and Carol has gotten very interesting as they battle each other for different reasons. Morgan is trying to protect the “Wolf” while trying to convince him and Carol that he can change for the better. On the other hand, Carol knows and understands the level that the “Wolf” is on and realizes that a person like him cannot and will not change. She makes a statement saying that she will Kill Morgan so she can kill the “Wolf.” Morgan and Carol go at it for a few minutes and eventually Morgan brings her down. The “Wolf” takes that opportunity to knock out Morgan. Rosita, Eugene, and Tara walk in on the whole thing and the “Wolf” takes Denise out of the house at gunpoint. The scene ends there. That is where I think Denise will escape and the “Wolf” will get devoured by the heard.

One of the most interesting parts of the show was what happened at the very end with Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham. As they are driving back in the direction toward Alexandria, they are stopped by a group of guys on motorcycles. They are prompted to get out and are told that everything they own doesn’t belong to them anymore. Sasha then asks, “who does our stuff belong to?” and the head guy replies “Negan.”

We know that Negan’s appearance on the show was forthcoming because of all the rumors that the role has been cast by Jeffery Dean Morgan, which has been officially confirmed. TWD comic book lovers know that the life that Rick once knew within Alexandria is going to change forever. We are going to see a side of Rick that we have never seen before, and we will see another part of him evolve. The episode was good, but I can say that some of it seemed to be a bit watered down considering all the action that is currently taken place. I think that Deanna got too much screen time and the writers could have went a little further in shooting the “walk” and the events after.

I don’t see this show lasting too much longer, I will give it to season 7, Maggie is pregnant with her son Hershel, and Negan is emerging which means that Glenn’s fate is looming. I don’t see Negan’s story-line really being a long one on the show because there are slow specks in the books, but things always pick up. But you never know the writers may have something else planned.

February is too long to wait!!

As I paced back and forth in the Loving Hills Rehabilitation Center lobby, the hospital was in disarray. Doctors and nurses were running around, and the security staff was gathered outside the lobby entrance all asking questions at once. The uneasiness of the situation gave off its own energy. My mother Pandora threw herself out of the window of her room seconds after I tried to heal her of the darkness that had held her for so long. I thought that healing my mother would cure her of her condition, but clearly, but clearly I’d been wrong. Almost regretting my actions, I could not gather the words to explain what really happened. Within minutes the police were scampering around to survey the area.

Angelo acted fast, and tried to keep the hospital staff and police away from me for a while so I could think of a way to explain what was going on. The craziness in the lobby quickly vanished. I wasn’t sure what he actually did, but it gave me enough time to get myself together. The silence in the lobby was pretty haunting and to be honest, I think I blacked out for a moment.

When I could think clearly again, I realized that a detective was staring me in the face with a little notepad in his hand. He looked at me with concern. “Are you okay, Miss London?” he asked. “You look a little pale.” I trembled slightly as I eyed him, and luckily, he assumed that I was in shock over everything that had happened—which was true to some degree. What he didn’t know was that I was worried that it was becoming harder to hide the truth about myself—about my powers and what I really was. I silently hoped that Angelo would come and rescue me from this interview. He didn’t though, so I did my best to cooperate and answered all his questions as honestly as I could, despite the fact that I still hadn’t re-acclimated to being back on the Earthly realm after having astral-traveled to so many other realms.

I was anxious to get home to sort this whole thing out when I was done with the detective, but my stay at the hospital turned out to be very lengthy. The police searched every nook and cranny of the hospital for hours, looking for any sign of my mother. In the end, the police officially declared her a missing person, and asked me to come down to the station to answer more questions. By the time Angelo and I made it back to my house it was very late in the evening.

I was so upset with myself and what went down with my mother that I could barely think straight. I sat at the small round kitchen table, with a steaming cup of hot cocoa in front of me. I gazed at the floral table cloth as I pondered my mistake. Angelo started to prepare dinner, and I sipped on the hot beverage trying to relax. It was no use. I left my mug on the table and went upstairs to take a shower.
I tossed my clothes in the hamper, drew the shower curtain back, and turned on the water. I stepped in slowly and inhaled the steam, closed my eyes and allowed myself to relax. I rubbed my hands over my head, as the water saturated my long black hair. My mother was still on my mind. I was hurt. What in the world went wrong? How could I misunderstand Michael? Why would Michael, the archangel and leader of the Great Seven, tell me to go to my mother if healing her was not the intent? I was thinking so hard that I gave myself a headache.

I tried to clear my mind as I dried off and threw on some dark jeans and my old Milford High School tee shirt. I couldn’t be bothered with drying my hair or putting on makeup. I brushed my hair thoroughly and pulled it back in a low ponytail. I looked at my pale reflection, and studied my icy blue eyes. I felt empty and sad.

I made my way back down the steps and into the kitchen. Silently I sat down in front of a nice place setting. Angelo got out my mom’s special dishes—the ones she used when company came over for dinner. I guess he must have thought that seeing my mom’s dishes would put me in a better mood. I smiled sadly as I thought about my family.

“Angelo I can’t believe this,” I said as I ran my finger around the edge of the plate. “I really thought that healing my mom was going to go smoothly. What did I do that was so wrong?” I couldn’t look at Angelo’s beautiful face, feeling that I was to blame for what happened.
Angelo stopped, then turned to face me. “How about healing a fallen angel that is consumed with the darkness?” he answered, barely holding back his anger.
“I thought that I was supposed to heal her,” I replied. “I had no idea that my mother was going to go psycho.”

“Well she did.”

“Angelo, I really don’t believe that. I spoke to my mother. It was my mother. She wasn’t in a dark place. The light surfaced from within me. You were not there, but it was real,” I said to him as a tear formed in the corner of my eye. Angelo knelt down in front of me. He placed both hands on my knees and looked directly into my eyes.

“Syd, I know that it was real. You don’t have to convince me of it. A part of your mother is still in her, but she did succumb to the darkness—you saw it. That is what the darkness does,” he said. I bowed my head with despair. “Please don’t blame yourself,” he continued. “You were only doing what you felt was right. As your Guardian I should’ve explained it to you,” Angelo said serenely.

“Sydney, we must find her before the Council does. All the angel vamps have on their minds is locating Pandora’s Box and unleashing the fury within it.” I looked up at him with concern as he spoke. “We have to stop them and we need help to do it.”

We both knew we needed to summon The Great Seven, also known as the archangels. They were the head of the angel hierarchy. They protected me with their celestial wards and gave me the power to heal—the power I had used so unsuccessfully on my mother. It was a gift and an honor to be able to heal sickness and pain, to be able to bring someone out of the darkness and into the light. After receiving the gift, I had healed the captives at Kalaston, and I thought the archangels had wanted me to heal my mother next—but I must have been wrong.

Transformers Age poster

Transformers:The Age of Extinction directed by Michael Bay and starring Mark Wahlberg was an action packed film filled with heartstoping adventure. The movie takes place 5 years after Optimus Prime and the Autobots saved the human race from Megatron and the Decepticons.

Prime and the surviving Autobots are now in hiding from the government and have a large price on their heads. A struggling mechanic, Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) purchases a run down truck that just so happeneds to be the transformer Optimus Prime. As the the Autobots come out of the shadows, they rise up to face a new threat— the humans, and newly manufactured transformers. Feeling betrayed by the humans, the transformers put aside their trust issues to team up with Cade and his family. Cade and his daughter Tessa are now wanted for harboring a transformer fugitive— Prime. They band together with Optimus and the other Autobots to once again save the human race from being destroyed. This time they must locate and take an object called “the seed” and remove it from the possession of the humans. The humans working on the project unknowingly realize that the seed has the power to destroy the entire world. An inside man working for the government- Harold Attinger played by Kelsey Grammer betrays his people by being in league with one of Optimus’ worse enemies.

The battle is on as good faces evil. The Autobots strive to defend and protect the planet. Optimus recruits the Dinobots as they lay dormant, deep in the mountains of China. They fight with bravery and honor as they struggle to battle a power that has been engineered.

The age of extinction was a great movie. Every other scene was an action sequence, and the special effects were eye-catching and emotion driven. Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammer and John Goodman portrayed memorable characters. The storyline was a bit predictable, but overall you really don’t miss the characters from the past three films. It stood out on its own and everyone contributed a little something new to the already established franchise. The score was the only thing that I had a problem with. It wasn’t nearly as good and engaging as the past three movies, but the cars that were featured were more luxurious. Nicole Peltz— Tessa aka Bates Motel’s Bradly, was a breath of fresh air which added a modern flair to the film. Spielberg executive produced and Micheal Bay’s vision once again reflected the overall tone of the film.

Put this movie on your summer to see list. I gave it 5 stars.

TrueBlood Season Premier Review
We all love Sookie Stackhouse and fell in love with her from the very beginning. We all remember that night at Merlotte’s when she was waiting tables and a mysterious man walked in and sat down.

From that very moment TrueBlood has created a very special bond between viewer and reader. That bond crosses the boarders within imagination and reality. The show has always been a reflection of Charline Harris’ work. For the most part the show has always had a clear vision of what road they intend to take during every season, but this year I feel that the absence of Alan Ball shows and the team really doesn’t know where they should take the final season.

Last season ended with an attack by the Hep-V vampires at the newly owned bar Bellefleur’s. The final season opened continuing the attack as several lives were lost including Tara and some of the Bon Temps residents being kidnapped.

After Tara got killed, I was so upset. Her death was right before the show’s introduction and it made me so angry that Rutina Wesley aka Tara didn’t even have a proper farewell. Fans have struggled with Tara all these years, and it would have been nice to see another path where her journey ended. Her character and her fans deserved better.

I’ve always wanted to see Sookie and Alcide together but there is something about the chemistry that seems a little off. The sexy, passion that Sookie has for her lovers just isn’t visible with the werewolf. Hopefully that will change.

Sam’s new position as Mayor of Bon Temps bothers me, and I feel that it has taken away from his shifter personally, despite the fact that he shifted in the episode last night. Nicole is expecting and was among the people kidnapped. I just can’t understand why Sam and Alcide couldn’t track them in their supernatural forms? That was really upsetting to me.

Where in the world is Eric? When Eric burned in the sun during last season’s finale, Pam sensed his pain and tracked him. She ends up in Morocco, but instead of finding him she is led on a treasure hunt to find her Maker which may lead her to France. Eric is one of the major characters that impacts Sookie in many ways. In the books she unknowingly marries him, but he tricks her into it in order to protect her. I was hoping that the writers would have stayed true to the author’s vision. If they did, this show could have survived ten heart stopping seasons. Even though Eric released Pam, why wouldn’t he go to Bon Temps or even to Fangtasia? Now Fantasia is a hub for the Hep-V vamps, and I think that is ridiculous.

I feel that the flow of show has come to a halt, and that the story lines involving the characters are completely disjointed. I went to bed with the show on my mind and thought about how disappointed I was with the overall writing of this particular episode.

Jason Stackhouse’s story line with this vampire chick Violet is pointless. They should have killed her and kept Tara and had Jason and Tara have an intimate scene while she was a vampire. I’m not sure where they want to go with Jessica and Andy’s daughter, Adilyn, but I’m not excited about that either.

I just hope that the writers get on board and show and that they are not just trying to get this over with for the sake of their contracts. So many shows have a bad track record with ending in disappointments.

Stephen Moyer directed the episode which impressed me. And I was happy to see everyone. The introduction of some new characters like Jessica’s new beau was refreshing. I’m looking forward to seeing how this season unfolds. I just got the final Sookie book so I can’t wait to get lost in her adventures again.

Sabrina

The heat is on this week on the ABC soap General Hospital. Sabrina and Patrick are grieving over the death of their son Gabriel. As they prepare for the upcoming funeral Felix realizes that “something is off” with Sabrina. Patrick goes over to the apartment to check on her and she has apparently completely lost her mind. Sabrina’s mind has reverted back to her wedding day. I think that she will have to be committed and that will be Teresa’s official sign off to go on maternity leave.

Nina Clay has come back from the dead, like most soap characters do. She is trying to use her handicap to get Silas back and I believe she is faking it. The writers are setting it up for a new Jason to make an appearance, so this thing with Silas and Sam is not going to work.
This new story line with Rafe is getting interesting as he has now become a drug addict. I think he was one that caused the accident that Sabrina and Patrick were in but Ava directly told Carlos that Sabrina would be a target if he didn’t lie for her. It is possible that Ava paid Rafe to run them off them off the road. It would make sense, just so Rafe could finance his drug habit. He will do anything for money at this point.

Now that the truth is out about Sonny and Ava’s situation, I’m excited to see how things will unfold. I’m surprised that Morgan was willing to get back with Ava despite everything that she has done. I can’t imagine how Ava and Sonny will make it work living together. Sonny can trust Olivia so I don’t know why he won’t tell her that he shot AJ. She will understand.

I absolutely love the plot that is centered on Jordan. I would have never thought that she would end up being an undercover DEA agent. She should tell TJ but she knows that will be a major risk in blowing her cover. I hope she finds out who Julian’s real boss is. I think it is either the Jerome father, Jerry Jax or Heather Webber disguised as Luke Spencer. My sources tell me that someone in Port Charles will get shot by the end the week. I guess we have to wait and find out who.

Godzilla_(2014)_poster

Godzilla starring Bryan Cranston,Aaron Taylor-Johnson,and Ken Watanabe, follows the story of nuclear scientists and the military as they discover, and battle a creature that unleashes a wrath of prehistoric proportions on a modern-day world.

The Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures duo outdid themselves in the apocalyptic action adventure.

Monsters, and Dinosaurs Oh My!!

After the accident and death of Joe Brody’s wife in a Japan Power plant,Brody sets off on a 15 year study where he learns that all the strange geological activity in Japan is actually being covered up and is something else entirely different.

With the discovery of strange prehistoric creatures,a chain reaction of events leads to humanity fighting for their world.

Once the terrestrial creatures are unleashed, they destroy everything in their path to mate with each other. As scientists learn that the two are communicating with another creature, the race begins as the military fights to save the world from destruction. Another creature surfaces to claim American territory. As Godzilla reeks havoc upon American soil, he is threatened by the two monstrous forces. Godzilla battles the two and defeats the creatures and claims the title King of the monsters.

The story line was engaging, and every scene was directed and delivered in way that kept the movie goer interested. The destructive scenes were exciting and there was a balance of special effects and sound that united all the elements of the story.

The movie had a unique tone to it that subtly paid homage to the original Godzilla. It was a remake that did the original great justice and enhanced the story further. There are talks that a Warner Bros sequel is in the works, which will make movie goers happy. This was a movie that technology embraced to the fullest but wasn’t over shadowed by it.
I gave this movie 5 stars! A must see for Memorial Day Weekend!

The Walking Dead, mid season premier didn’t have me on the edge of my seat like the finale did. Even though I was so excited to experience the journey with Rick and Carl, I couldn’t help but feel that the episode was pretty much uneventful.
I must admit that there were some very important discoveries made when it came to Michone. We learned a little more about her past and saw more of a vulnerability to her character, which was refreshing to see.
Rick suffers from some potentially life threatening injuries when he had his battle with the governor. As he and Carl try to manage to pick up the pieces after the war, the emotional war of battling loss and the father and son relationship they had, meets even more challenges.
They move on foot scavenging for the basic necessities of life. Carl makes an attempt to try to protect his father by assuming a leadership role, but Rick does his best to try to keep Carl’s childhood innocence alive.
I was so excited to see what had happened to everyone else that left the prison, but unfortunately the episode on focused on Rick, Carl, and Michone.
Rick’s injuries soon get the best of him and he slips into a coma. At this point I wasn’t really nervous for him because Rick has been going nonstop since Atlanta. His body just shut down, and after everything he has been through, he is after all-human.
Rick needed to rest, and was in desperate need of medical attention.
An angered and frightened Carl feels that he is ready to let his father go, and states that he can survive alone and tells Rick that he can die. He ventures off on his own to find food in a neighboring home and quickly faces a Walker scare that almost gets him killed.
Carl’s bravery is unprecedented. He retreats back to where Rick is and soon believes that Rick will die. A torn Carl tries to handle the situation and Rick slowly comes out of his coma.
Michone follows the trail left by Rick and Carl, as she manages to begin her own journey alone. Her emotions go awry as she reminisces over the life she once had and copes with what life has become. While she pushes on, she eventually finds her way back on the steps of the house where Rick and Carl are.
Predictions:
I think that Michone will take care of Rick, to help him get back on his feet. Now that we know that Michone was a mother, her closeness with Carl is better understood. She had a son and knows what’s it’s like to have that mother-son bond. Michone will fall in love with Carl and Rick and with the feeling and ideas of what family represents. Michone is going to give the Grimes boys a sense of family again. Once she walks back in their lives her presence will give them hope to find the others.
I’m so curious to find out where the second half of this season will take fans.
Episode Bonus: The opening scene, where Michone goes back to the prison to find Hershel as a Walker and surprisingly all that is left is his head. I thought that was a great way for fans to officially say goodbye to Hershel.
Happy Reading
