Social Networking

I just got off of my Nook.  I am reading this book by a popular Paranormal Romance author and I am finding so difficult to get through.  I have read several blogs with people saying that they love her work, but at this point I can not see what all the hype is all about.  I can’t see how they made millions from books that have no purpose.  I am trying to give it a chance because I am inspired by her overall story, but now I am thinking maybe that is how she has been so successful just because of her “STORY”.   As a writer myself I know that I must put myself “Out There” even more when it comes to “Social Networking.”  I am really thinking about setting up a TWITTER account.  I know I have said that before, but it has been hard to really psych myself up to do it.  I am in love with Facebook and it’s set up, so experiencing something new is not my thing.  Sometime this week I will go on and check out TWITTER.  I’ve been writing my latest chapter in my book for a few hours now, so I think I am going to shut off my laptop and pick up where I left off in reading “Sweet and Deadly by Charline Harris.

Time Flies

OMG It has been a while since I have blogged.  The summer is going by fast.  I have been writing away on my new book.  Writing a book is a lot of work.   Not to mention how much time I’ve put into researching marketing and promotion prospects.  It is a lot of fun and extremely rewarding.  I feel complete when I am writing.  It is something that has been part of me since my mom put my first crayon in my hand.  I will not mention the title or plot of the book but I will say that it is a fantasy and definitely a page turning adventure.  I am very excited to complete the project and get it out and published.  I already have some great ideas for Book 2 and will start on that as soon as I am done with the first one.  See ya

“Rise of the Planet of the Apes” Directed by Rupert Wyatt and Starring Andy Serkis and James Franco is an interesting story about a genetic scientist that creates a gene strand that possibly could be the cure to many diseases including Alzheimer’s which Will’s Father suffers from.  Determined to make the gene work successfully Will tests the gene strand on an Ape.  Things go terribly wrong when the Ape’s looses control and is killed in the lab.  Will and a colleague soon learn that the Ape did not lose control but was simply protecting her unborn baby.  Will is caught in a tight situation and is left to parent the orphaned Ape.  Taking on the name Ceaser.  He is brought home and soon becomes a member of the family.  Will discovers that Ceaser is extremely smart and finds out that the gene strand the Mother ape had, was passed on to Ceaser.  As time goes on the intelligence of Ceaser increases.  Will gets anxious and deeply concerned about his father’s heath deterioration and soon injects his father with the gene.  From there on the storyline deepens as the relationship between the two main characters intensifies.  Jaw dropping action,  and shocking scenes will leave you on on the edge of your seat.  Andy Serkis does an outstanding job with his portrayal of the main character Ape.  His acting is extremely believable.  I can see first hand how CG technology has evolved since “The Lord of the Rings” and “Avatar” graced the silver screen.  The emotion that Serkis displays has a tremendous impact upon the movie goer.  James Franco also does an impeccable job delivering an unforgettable role.  Overall the movie is a must see, Wyatt is very inspiring in his ability to visually captivate the audience.  I give this movie a stunning five stars for a wonderful storyline, and creative realness.

“Harry Potter Deathly Hollows Part two picks up where the last movie Deathly Hollows part one ends.  The movie is an outstanding cinematic work of art that continues to take Harry Potter and his friends deeper into the  world of magical war.   Friendship, Destruction Death, Redemption, Pain and never-ending Love are several themes that are presented in the film.   The storyline is compelling, taking the journey to an end that leaves a part of you connected to the characters in a special way. The acting is, strong, dynamic, dramatic and believable. Daniel Radcliffe once again demonstrates his versatility on camera.   David Yates does an impeccable job bringing the books to life and tieing the overall story together.  The special effects draws Potter Fans into a whirlwind of adventure.  This movie is a once in a lifetime experience that will become an instant classic, charming the lives of millions for years to come.

Harry Potter

Well, The new Harry Potter Deathly Hollows part Two is expected to hit theaters nation wide this Friday.  I am so excited about seeing this film.  I know David Yates did a great job with wrapping the storyline up.  Looking forward to the theatrical experience, this movie will do wonderful and will not disappoint Potter fans.

Movie Review coming Soon

“Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon” directed by Micheal Bay is a visual masterpiece that follows Sam (Shia LaBeouf) as he first learns how to cope with being a college graduate.  Feeling worthless and filled with self-doubt he tries his best to find his place in world but really longs for the action and validation that the Autobots once gave him.  In a new relationship he soon finds himself caught back into the web between a war among the Autobots and the Decepticons.  Shia LaBeouf does a great job reprising his role as Sam, The new face Rosie Huntington-Whiteley does not do the role any justice.  The film carries an empty gap without Fox.  The supporting cast does a good job carrying the movie in their own way.  The storyline is stong but does have some weak spots.  The script also carries its usual dose of comedy which is refreshing at times.  The scenes are well-developed and takes the movie goer on a true action adventure.  This movie is a must see and I give it five stars for creative and visual expressiveness.

Bad Teacher Review

“Bad Teacher starring Cameron Diaz is a story about a superficial egotistical public school teacher that lies, cheats, steals, does drugs, and sleeps in class.  Not really caring about her job at all, she starts the year off by playing movies all day. Her goal is to attract a rich successful man so that she does not have to work anymore, but in order for her to attract the man of her dreams she plots to get breast enhancement surgery to keep him enticed.  She does odd things to come up with my money but she eventually discovers that if she can get her class to score the highest on the State Exam she will be rewarded with a bonus that will cover the cost of the surgery.  She buckles down and starts to really teach the students.  She ends up getting a hold of a copy of the test and answers and teaches the students all the material directly from the source.  The main character is successful in getting the bonus, but later changes her mind to obtain the surgery.  She learns a lesson and eventually falls for the gym teacher that has been interested in her for years.  Accepting her self and others for who they are she see the world around her with open eyes.  Overall Cameron Diaz carries the comedy in a unique way.  The supporting cast does a decent job in delivering their view.  Justin Timberlake does a better job with comedy when he is hosting Saturday Night Live.  The story as a whole did have some weak point but the movie was still quite entertaining.  This movie gets a two stars.

Super 8 Movie Review

Super 8 is a cinematic adventure that follows the journey of a group of friends as they set out to discover what is actually behind the tragic events that plague their small town. The movie is packed with lots of action and shocking scenes. Abrams stays true to his vision, drawing in the theater goer. The authentic 80’s time period brings back memories to those who lived in those times. The visual effects teams did a wonderful job creatively demonstrating talented skills in creating a concept that did not overshadow the actors or the general spirit of the movie. The Director did include some Cloverfield themes, which became quite obvious but Super 8 still lives up to the hype. This movie is a definitely go see. The audience will hang on the edge of their seats the whole time and will hunger for more.

My Birthday

Well, my birthday was last Thursday. It came and went so fast. I was sick for a couple of weeks with a throat infection and finally went to the doc. He put me on two kinds of meds and I slowly got better. I had a very nice birthday weekend. My husband and I went to the mountains and stayed at a beautiful resort. I had the chance to really relax and kick back with him. The trip was long over due. Spending that quality time away from home was really special. We both needed that. I took some awesome pictures of deer feeding and playing in the woods and It’s taken me some time to finish my new Sookie Stackhouse book. With so many things I have had to do, and then being sick those weeks really held me back. It usually takes me only a couple of days to read them from cover to cover. I am on Chapter 13 and it is getting extremely exciting. I am looking forward to reading it when I am in bed in my PJs’ later tonight.
