As the intensity and anticipation grew over the last few months, The season Premiere of The Walking Dead unraveled like a roll of gift wrapping paper. Directed by the talented Greg Nicotero, the story continued as the wrath of Negan brought down his bat upon two of TWD’S most beloved characters. I’m still in shock over the whole thing and must say that theTWD PR team did a great job at creating such buzz for this season. The Internet was fuming with kill theories and videos about the potential victims but I must say that my own theories were inconsistent at times. I had a feeling that Glenn was going to die but I figured that the writers had other plans for Abraham. I’m surprised that the show let go of two major characters at the same time.
I would like to begin with the flow of the story and the story telling process,which was done in classic Nicotero style. It was done in a way that brings the audience even deeper into the story with the realization that these events are happening to the characters.
The events are unfolding through the eyes of Rick as he watches the deaths of members of his family. Glenn has been there since the very beginning so it makes it an even harder pill to swallow. Rick is more vulnerable that he has ever been before. The kill scene spews an unimaginable sence of emotion that deeply impacts us, especially the charcters in the show.
Rick and the group are heartbroken over the loss of Abraham and Glenn and it seems as though the group is torn in a way that will never allow them to heal.
The evil within Negan is gut wrenching but there is something about him that makes me like him. Maybe it’s the writers or Jeffrey Dean Morgan but I’m excited to see what kind of future he will have on the show.
Overall the episode was hard to watch. I can’t stand to see Rick go through this turmoil. This season is already intense. What else can I say…..
The Walking Dead season 6 finale excited, shocked, and made us crave for more. The episode answered lots of questions, but also left us asking more questions. The Roller coaster ride continues to go up. Things haven’t been quiet for sometime now. Rick has fully assumed position as leader of Alexandria since Deanna’s death during the mid-season. He has fallen in love and started a romantic relationship with Michone, met Jesus from the Hilltop and has come face to face with arch nemesis Negan. Rick is stronger now than ever, but I fear that his strength will soon weaken once he witnesses the full wrath of Negan.
The people of Alexandria are on the verge of loosing everything they have built and tried to maintain within the walls. Daryl started the war against Negan and his group, which was initiated when he blew up the bikers with the rocket launcher.
While at the Hilltop Rick learns about Negan. He and the group take on the challenge to get rid of him and his group so that he and Alexandria can trade with the Hilltop. That decision leads the group to Negan’s compound where Glenn makes his first kill and Maggie and Carol are captured. The group does some damage but not enough. They come out victorious, but soon run into a new band of problems as they settle back home. Carol leaves, and Rick sends a group out to find her. Daryl sets out on his own to find Dwight, the sleaze that shot an arrow and killed Denise on a run. He is filled with loss and revenge, but then soon finds himself in hot water just as he stumbles on a captured Glenn and Michone.
Something goes terribly wrong with Maggie, as she experiences possible miscarriage pain. Rick and the group gather a few things and set off to take Maggie to the Hilltop where she can get medical attention. On the way, Rick encounters Negan’s group on the road. They are stopped several times and are eventually led into a major trap where a large number of Negan’s men have ambushed Rick and the group. Meanwhile Morgan finds Carol and she confesses that she is ready to die, but Morgan refuses to let her go. She slips away from him injured from her battle with the Saviors. On her travels alone one of the survivors catches up to her and shoots her twice. Morgan finds her again and finally kills the guy to save her. They are recruited by a two men dressed in armor, one of them is the man who lost his horse in episode 15. Those people are from another community called the Kingdom, as it is known in the comic books. Eventually the Hilltop, Alexandria, and The Kingdom join forces to battle Negan’s group.
After plan to dodge Negan goes wrong, Rick and the group are all brought to their knees, and are reunited with Michone, Daryl, Glenn, Rosita, and Eugene. Negan finally makes himself known along with his precious bat Lucille. The fear in everyone’s eyes is practically haunting as they all take in the air of death upon their necks. He proposes an offer for Rick-for them to give half of all they have to him in order to stay alive. Negan is dead set on punishing Rick for killing so many of his men. One by one he tries to choose which person to kill. He makes a choice and bashes the head in of someone who we will have wait until October to find out who lost This episode was directed by Greg Nicotero , who by which is an awesome director, but this episode had to be one of the most disappointing episodes I’ve seen in a while. I had a problem with the 90 minutes, and half of a season of building up to such an epic point just to be let down by the end. Jeffrey Dean Morgan had to be on camera for about a whole five minutes, then it ended and we have no clue who was killed. At this point I don’t even think the writers know who they want to kill off. Most of the episode was spent on the group going in circles, and Carol and Morgan’s to die or not die story-line.
The special effects were great and there is always something new to see visually. I will spend this time reading the books which will include the new book.
TWD is back and bigger than ever. The season six episode 9 opened on Valentine’s Day and I must say it did not disappoint. Directed by special effects genus Greg Nicotero, “No way out” picked up right where the last episode ended.
Alexandria was overrun with walkers, while Carol and Morgan fought over “the wolf.” Rick, Michone, Carl and Jessie, along with her family try to escape the house and head for the armory, while Daryl, Sasha and Abraham face Negan’s men and Glenn does his best to save Maggie who is trapped.
Everything panned out in this episode, but it didn’t pan out without casualties. While no major characters died in this episode, there were major shockers and explosive moments that kept us on the edge of our seats.
Let’s begin with Daryl and his group as they face Negan’s men. The main biker does his best to shake up things by threatening the group and taking their weapons. Soon Daryl is taken behind the truck by one of the men to give up more supplies, then suddenly without warning Negan’s men explode as their body parts scatter all over. The man of the hour- Daryl Dixon comes out holding a rocket launcher and that was before the official opening of the show. By this time I’m already jumping out of my seat.
Now we are brought back to Rick and the group’s attempt to escape the house. Covered in walker guts, they head out, then suddenly Rick changes his plan and decides to try and lead the walkers out. Gabriel takes Judith to safety while the others go. The group slowly moves about within the herd. “The wolf” takes Denise as a hostage out in the commotion while Rosita, Eugine, Carol, Morgan and Tara come together. Enid and Glenn try to make it to Maggie while Daryl and the group make their way back to Alexandria.
Now darkness has fallen as Rick and his group slither their way through the walkers. Sam is suddenly spooked by the walkers as he hears Carl’s voice in his head. He can’t go on and everyone tries to convince him to go on. He is bitten and so is Jessie. She refuses to let Carl’s hand go and Rick is forced to chop it off with the ax. Ron witnesses his mother and brother’s deaths and turns the gun in his hand on Carl. Carl is shot in the eye and Ron is killed. Rick scoops up Carl in his arms and heads over to Denise’s place. Carol eventually kills “the wolf” and Morgan is left to finish the job. Denise is left with trying to save Carl as Rick truly believes that this is it for Carl. Rick goes on a killing rampage, as he makes an attempt to save what is left of Alexandria. Everyone battles the walkers with the hope of reclaiming the town. Daryl, Sasha and Abraham show up as they lead the walkers into a lake of fire created by Daryl. Carl makes it through the night and the town is reclaimed as the corpses of the dead line the streets.
This episode was filled with excitement and thrilling scenes. The cinematography techniques were great and one of the best scenes was when the camera got a shot of everyone taking a swing at a walker, then ending it with Rick taking the final blow. What a great episode, I must say that this way one of the best TWD episodes ever. I just wish this was a 90 minutes.The special effects were awesome even though I knew Greg used a combination of CG and make up to create Carl’s eye. The show doesn’t feel like it’s in the same season, it feels so fresh and that why this show is the best show on television. Stay tuned because the war with Negan hasn’t even started yet. READ THE COMIC BOOKS, THEY ARE AWESOME!
Well last night’s MSF went out with a bang, but also raised more questions than answered. First of all the show should have been 90mins instead of the regular 60. They could have taken that 30 minutes away from Morgan’s episode so we could really get an idea of where the people of Alexandria are going.
Now we know that Deanna is officially dead and that Rick is officially the leader of Alexandria. Jessie’s house has been overrun with walkers and now everyone is on their way out to the armory. Covered in walker blood Rick, Carl, Judith, Michone, Jessie and her two boys slither their way out in hopes of getting past the walkers unnoticed. Only seconds go by until Jessie’s youngest son starts to call for his mom, which will probably alert the walkers in the midseason premiere. But in the meantime we all left wondering (those of us that have read the comic books, know that this is the moment where Jessie and her sons die, and Carl gets hit in the eye with a stray bullet.)
Glenn and Enid are on their way back to Alexandria, and Glenn sees the devastation of the heard. He spots Maggie and tries to think of a way to get to her. Unfortunately we only see Glenn for the last 5 minutes of the show, so we know that he and Maggie’s story-line is not over yet.
The intensity between Morgan and Carol has gotten very interesting as they battle each other for different reasons. Morgan is trying to protect the “Wolf” while trying to convince him and Carol that he can change for the better. On the other hand, Carol knows and understands the level that the “Wolf” is on and realizes that a person like him cannot and will not change. She makes a statement saying that she will Kill Morgan so she can kill the “Wolf.” Morgan and Carol go at it for a few minutes and eventually Morgan brings her down. The “Wolf” takes that opportunity to knock out Morgan. Rosita, Eugene, and Tara walk in on the whole thing and the “Wolf” takes Denise out of the house at gunpoint. The scene ends there. That is where I think Denise will escape and the “Wolf” will get devoured by the heard.
One of the most interesting parts of the show was what happened at the very end with Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham. As they are driving back in the direction toward Alexandria, they are stopped by a group of guys on motorcycles. They are prompted to get out and are told that everything they own doesn’t belong to them anymore. Sasha then asks, “who does our stuff belong to?” and the head guy replies “Negan.”
We know that Negan’s appearance on the show was forthcoming because of all the rumors that the role has been cast by Jeffery Dean Morgan, which has been officially confirmed. TWD comic book lovers know that the life that Rick once knew within Alexandria is going to change forever. We are going to see a side of Rick that we have never seen before, and we will see another part of him evolve. The episode was good, but I can say that some of it seemed to be a bit watered down considering all the action that is currently taken place. I think that Deanna got too much screen time and the writers could have went a little further in shooting the “walk” and the events after.
I don’t see this show lasting too much longer, I will give it to season 7, Maggie is pregnant with her son Hershel, and Negan is emerging which means that Glenn’s fate is looming. I don’t see Negan’s story-line really being a long one on the show because there are slow specks in the books, but things always pick up. But you never know the writers may have something else planned.
The Walking Dead season six premiere episode titled “First Time Again” was directed by Greg Nicotero. The highly exciting episode picks up right after the gruesome events that led to the death of Deanna’s husband, Pete’s demise, the return of Morgan, and Glen’s altercation with Nicolas. As things get underway, the episode was shot in black and white as the past unraveled. As the present unfolds those shots are presented in color, while they both deliver a vivid presence in showing what the world really looks like as Rick and group face a whole array of challenges while trying to maintain what they view as a stable life within the walls of Alexandria.
The mood of Alexandria has altered in way where many question Rick’s ethics. Rick tries his best to make things right between him Jessie and her son Ron, but after what she witnessed Jessie really doesn’t want to have anything to do with Rick. Deanna tries to assume her position as leader of the group, but in all honesty everyone knows that Rick is the leader. Carol tells Rick that, but he knows what’s going on.
Morgan and Rick go beyond the walls to find a place to bury Pete, Ron follows them and it is there where Rick discovers a quarry filled with walkers, where he realizes that he and the people of Alexandria have an even bigger problem on their hands to deal with. Rick meets with the group to discuss their plan in how to deal with the walkers. He tells them that once the truck collapses on the hill, the walkers will have a way out of the quarry and will head straight to Alexandria. Rick proposes to draw out the walkers and lead them away from Alexandria. The people in the group know that this is dangerous so Carter suggests to build higher walls and reinforce the ones they have. Deanna goes with Rick’s plan and they all start the process of drawing out the walkers. Carter doesn’t trust rick at all, and soon starts to organize a plan to kill him and assume power of Alexandria. Eugene overhears the plan and Carter draws a gun on him. Rick and Morgan walk in on it and Rick takes the gun from Carter and makes an attempt to talk him into living together in peace.
Meanwhile Rick and Morgan’s relationship begins again as Rick invites Morgan to live with his family. Morgan tells Rick that he knows who he is, and that he is the same person he met when they were outside of Atlanta. Rick believes that he is a different person and to some degree he is, but there is a part of the man that we first fell in love with that still exists within him. It is that husband, that father, that survivor, that drive and determination that we all love about Rick that keeps us on the edge of our seats every week.
Heath— a comic book character has been introduced. He is now part of a Glen’s and Nicolas’ group. They are on the outskirts of Alexandria as they try to clear an area to help Rick execute his plan to draw out the bigger heard of walkers. A now humbled Nicolas is taken under the direction of Glen, sees his task as a serious and important duty that can impact others.
The plan is under way, as everyone takes their place, they proceed to draw out the walkers, led by motorcycle riding Daryl Dixon himself, along with Abraham and Sasha in a car, the walkers slowly follow them out of the quarry. Things go crazy fast, Carter is bitten in the face by a walker and his screams distract the walkers and draw them off track. Rick kills Carter and gets the walkers back on track until suddenly a loud sound that seems to be coming from Alexandria draws the walkers back in Alexandria’s direction. I think the Wolves are near and they are the ones that are responsible. I hope to see an appearance from the Hilltop, and the Saviors. If Negan makes an appearance this season we can say goodbye to Glen, unless the writers have different plans for him. I don’t know how Rick will handle Negan, but he will have to become more ruthless then he already is. Negan is by far worse than the Governor! I’m reading book 23, and I’m so excited to see how season six will transpire.

Japanese scientists unveiled what they said was the world’s first news-reading android, eerily lifelike and possessing a sense of humour to match her perfect language skills.
This is the first article that will be included in a three part series that will follow the development of human looking robots in our society. This article will introduce some wild concepts on the subject while investigating the pros and cons of those factors that question’s how far is too far?
The New AMC show Humans has opened me up to a new world of technology that I didn’t realize existed in the world of reality. Human looking robots: groundbreaking technology or the end of humanity as we know it? The question remains, could society be headed to having humanoid robots in our homes like cell phones and laptops?
The show is very interesting. It had me so intrigued on such a level that it made me interested in the realistic development of robots in the year 2015. First I want to discuss the show and what it’s about. The show Humans takes place in modern London, but in a time where society depends on the help of a domesticated robot to assist with the day to day components of living. The show follows a family—the Hawkins family that struggles with the normal aspects of life. The husband Joe takes on the responsibility of raising the children while the wife Laura spends a lot of extra time at work. The husband feels that with his wife’s constant absence, he needs help with the house. He purchases a synthetic called a synth without the approval of his wife. The children are on board with it, but Laura—the wife immediately feels that she is being replaced and has her doubts about the synth. She voices her feelings about it, but soon decides to keep her feelings to herself. Laura realizes that something is off with Anita and her older daughter Mattie who is a computer genus soon starts to do some research about the synth. Her research leads her to a couple of synths Leo and Max who have been social outlaws for some time.
As the story continues, we learn that there are other synths that are connected to Leo and Max, which are walking around with the ability to think and feel like humans. They are on the run so that they can live their lives freely, but not without finding the others first.
Niska—a synth that works as a prostitute, Fred- a synth that is being experimented on in a lab, and Anita—the synth that lives with the Hawkins family has no idea who she really is. Niska leaves her job at a brothel after committing a murder, and sets off to find her own way. As a wanted fugitive she tries to blend in with humans as she makes an attempt to reconnect with Leo. On her travels she is led to the doorstep of a doctor named George Millican, a scientist that used to work at the company that first started to create the synths. During her encounter with the ailing doctor she learns more about herself which makes her embrace being human even more.
While everyone is adjusting to Anita, she displays some strange behavior that makes the family question her origins. As Laura and Joe continue to struggle within their marriage, Joe crosses the line and sleeps with Anita. He orders her to delete the experience from her hard drive, but the secret of his infidelity comes to light very quickly. Laura takes Anita back to the facility to find out where she came from and learns that Anita is not newly manufactured, but 14 years old.
Mattie quickly realizes that Anita’s connection with Leo and other synths is deeper than she thought. After several attempts to alter Anita’s new programming functions, the inscription codes are eventually broken and Anita aka Mia finally comes out as herself.
While Mattie learns more about Mia, she also learns that there is so much more to Leo. She finds out that he is half human and half robot. He was the son of the original creator and died in a car accident. His father kept his body on life support and created a digital program for his brain to function, complete with memories and the ability to feel and think like a human. Mattie discovers that once all the synths are together that they have the ability to give consciousness to other synths.
After a long and trying journey Niska is reunited with Leo, Max and Mia. While Fred manages to escape the lab to join the others. Meanwhile Hobbs, the lead scientist is determined to get his hands on all the synths so that he can control them and have them as robot/human slaves. The synths just want to be free and have the opportunity to live among the humans as individuals.
The synths endure a lot on their adventures to stay out of the lab and the seek refuge at the Hawkins family home, but their stay is not without challenges as they try to fix a now injured Max who risked his life to save Leo. They are soon betrayed by one of their own, Voss—a synth connected to their circle who works as a journalist who has been living her life as a human. She believes that their existence was a mistake and does everything in her power to destroy them.
There are so many things going on with this show that made me question where the art of creating robots has developed in our society. I discovered that there is a scientist in Japan named Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro that created a group of human looking robots. He even created one that looks exactly like him. They have the ability to interact with humans on a semi social level. There is even a robot exhibit that demonstrates the inception, evolution and production of modern robots at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Japan. Hiroshi Ishiguro stated at a press conference when he revealed two human looking androids to the world, that it is his intention to introduce the world to robots in a way where one day they will be as common to human everyday life, like cell phones. In the show Humans, the robots are “created to make our lives better—easier. They can cook, clean, drive our kids to school, help with homework and even help take care of the sick and elderly.
There are new developments in the robotics community every day. NASA has developed a space robot that can go on extended space missions and perform duties that would otherwise put a human at risk. It was announced early August 2015 that the mega company Google has developed a functioning robot. I won’t be surprised to hear that Microsoft, Apple, and Sony are in the stages of developing their own versions of robots. It’s just a matter of time when they reveal it to the public.
The society we live in today has entered the digital age. We live in a world where everyone has a cell phone and depends on it to go through everyday life. We get our mail and research through the internet, we do our banking online, we can even shop online without leaving our house for food and other things we need. When you really look closely at this, it can be very scary to see that our world is made up of technology. The things we have seen in the movies like Transformers, Terminator, IRobot, AI and others are not as far-fetched as we may believe. We all have laptops, microwaves, vacuum cleaners, IPADs, and now the new thing is the apple watch. We can all stay connected to each other through social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. If the internet crashes today, our society would crash and people would not know how to handle it. Just think, when your phone breaks, or you don’t have enough bars to get a signal, you freak out and are “so annoyed.” Just imagine what would happen if we lost all of that in an instant. Our society would literary crumble. The stock market depends on computers to survive, most medical institutions are dependent on computers for day to day operations. Our lives revolve around the functioning operations of computers and other forms of technology.
The point of me writing this article, is just to voice my feelings on how far does our society have to go to just be satisfied with everyday life? Do we really need robots doing everything for us? In my opinion no, because it makes us too dependent on it and stops us from being able to learn how to take care of ourselves. It stops us from being human. The idea of having robots integrated into our society disconnects us as a group because we are meant to be connected on many levels. For example, the social media outlets in conjunction with cell phones can be viewed as a positive thing that connects us, but it also contradicts what connection really means. Being connected doesn’t mean having a conversation solely via text message or looking at them through a camera lens. Being connected means having a real human interaction that is deeper than any form of technology. It means looking into the other person’s eyes, the touch of a hand, a kiss on the cheek, or even the simplest thing of just physically being in the other person’s company. I’m not saying that having technology is bad, it can be a good thing, but I just think that we as a society need to reevaluate what it means to have technology in our lives and to remember that everything comes at a cost no matter how productive it may appear to be.
The Walking Dead season five finale went out with a bang. The entire season has been one big thrill ride after another, starting with Terminus and now ending with Alexandria. Rick and the group all have taken their own paths as they try to make sense of the new world around them. Deanna sees a world filled with possibility as her judgment as leader continues to be clouded. Rick does his best to blend in and make his new job as constable work but it doesn’t take long for tensions to rise in a community that doesn’t seem to be realistic about what’s going on in the real world.
Now that we all know that no major characters died on the show last night, we can take a deep breath. For a moment I thought that we were going loose Daryl and Glen.
The show opens with none other than Morgan sleeping in a car. He gets up to make some hot cocoa, and encounters a man who looks like big trouble. They have words and the guy threatens to take everything Morgan has. Seconds later another guy comes out and they try to double team Morgan. Morgan kicks some serious ass just using a stick. We do get some information about this new group “The Wolves.” They seem like bad business and there have been plenty of clues about what kind of people they are throughout the season. The Walker torsos that fell out the truck when Tyrese was dying was a clear sign.
(After the encounter with the “Wolves”, Morgan goes about his business and we don’t see him for a while.)
While all this is going on, we see Daryl and Aaron go out recruiting for survivals. They trail a guy wearing a red poncho, and are led to a can food warehouse. They are hopeful that they can come back to Alexandria with a trailer filled with can goods. They clear a few walkers and proceed to check out the area. They open two trucks and quickly realize that it’s a trap. Walkers from everywhere try to get them. (They strangely have” W’s” carved into their foreheads.) Daryl and Aaron retreat to a nearby car and try to come up with a plan so they can get out. Daryl plans to lead them out so the Aaron can get away, but Aaron doesn’t go for that. Aaron makes it clear that they are in this situation together.
They try to make a break for it, and Morgan comes to the rescue, and kills just enough to clear out a path. Daryl and Aaron loose the red poncho guy and head out of that area before things get worse.
After Rick’s original confrontation with Pete the night before, he,Carol, Michone, Glen and Abraham come up with a plan of attack to take over the community just in case things go sour at the upcoming meeting.
At the meeting, Deanna plans to discuss what happened with Rick and Pete and make a decision on the future of Rick’s residence there.
Maggie does her best to try to talk to Deanna, and Reg about the situation in hopes of defusing it, but Deanna doesn’t want to hear it. Maggie storms off and tries to talk to the locals to see if that will put them at ease.
Carol and Rick have a moment, where they open up to each other about their secret of keeping more guns, as she questions some of the other members of the group. Rick is secure with his relationship with Michone and the others and let’s Carol know that she has nothing to worry about.
Meanwhile, Glen’s confrontation with Nicolas spills over into the finale. With the pain of Noah’s death still heavy on his heart, he makes an attempt to follow Nicolas as he makes his way off the premises out of the Alexandria community.
Glen already knows that something is up and after a few minutes of playing cat and mouse, he is violently encountered by Nicolas. Nicolas shoots him in the upper shoulder and Glen vanishes for a moment. Glen comes back strong pumped up with adrenalin. They argue, and get into a bloody fight. Nicolas was very careless and didn’t know how to lead runs successfully outside the walls, and Glen made it clear to Nicolas that he is not ready to venture out with a team. Nicolas was reason why they lost so many on runs before Rick’s group got to Alexandria. Glen beats the crap out of Nicolas and was so close to killing him. He musters up the will power to not kill him and they make their way back to Alexandria together.
Back in the chapel, Sasha struggles to deal with her own loss and cope with the guilt of killing the termite at the church, and now settling in the new community has taken a toll on her. Father Gabriel walks in from his own little adventure beyond the walls. Sasha asks Father Gabriel for help and he tells her no, and replies that she doesn’t deserve to be safe because of what she did.
At the meeting Deanna and the others openly express their feelings involving Rick’s confrontation with Pete. Deanna and others wonder why Rick wasn’t there to defend himself. In the mist of the meeting Rick encounters several walkers that got in through the main gate. (At the hand of Gabriel’s irresponsibility.) He kills one of them with his bare hands as the blood and brains spew out of the mouth, nose and eye sockets. It was a great scene.
Sasha and Gabriel get into a heated fight, and Sasha reaches her boiling point. She pulls a gun on him and is ready to pull the trigger. Maggie leaves the meeting to look for Rick, Glen and Gabriel.
Rick shows up at the meeting with a walker over his shoulder and tells Deanna that he can no longer stand and wait to watch the community get overrun because of their lack of security. During Rick’s speech Pete shows up ranting that he wants Rick out. Wielding Michone’s sword, Pete slashes Reg’s throat, killing Deanna’s husband. Everyone is standing with their mouths open as Deanna tries to put pressure on his neck, and a group of men restrain Pete. Grief stricken Deanna gives Rick the order, and he shoots Pete in the head showing no remorse. At that very moment, Daryl and Aaron show up with Morgan, as Morgan see’s first hand what Rick is capable of.
Back at the chapel, Maggie stops Sasha from killing Gabriel, and in the end, Gabriel confesses to Maggie that he was the reason why people died. Maggie extends her hand, he takes it. In the end they pray together. I think that after everything that Gabriel has done to ruin Rick and the group’s lives at Alexandria, he deserved to die, or at least be exiled from the community.
The finale was a great episode, awesome special effects and great imagery. The walker death scenes were great and the scenes with the “Wolves” were pieced together very thoughtfully. I am so happy that no major characters died and I can’t wait to see what happens in season 6. The comic books are starting to blend and reflect the show which is great and I hope Negan will be introduced in season 6. If that happens, I expect Carl to be shot again, walking around with one eye like the Governor. I also expect Glen to be beaten to death by Lucille, which will led to Maggie’s suicide attempt. Let’s see how far they will go. I am reading book 21.

The will to go through any lengths to survive the zombie apocalypse is strong within Rick and his group. The strength they all have is slowly weakening as they embark upon a new chapter in their lives while they search for a safe place to rebuild their lives and the world around them.
I was somewhat disappointed in the events of last night’s episode. After the mourning of Beth’s death, the group tries to bounce back. Noah convinces Rick and group to go to his hometown in order to seek refuge in his family’s gated community. (Which at this point I believed was the gated community that was introduced in the comic books.) Rick agrees, so they travel to Richmond with the hope of starting something new.
Things take a turn for the worse quickly as Rick, Glen, Michone, Noah and Tyrese go to the housing community to check things out. They realize that the place has fallen and has a small walker presence. Noah tries to go to his house to see if there are any survivors and Tyrese gets bitten by one of Noah’s brother’s. Noah runs to get help, and in that process Tyrese experiences the wrath of death approaching him. Beth, Mika, her sister, Bob, the governor, and even the baseball cap Terminus guy all show up to give Tyrese a lesson in life and death.
Rick and Michone make their best efforts to cut off Tyrese’s arm in order to save him but in the end it did not help. Tyrese dies in the car on the way back to the rest of the group.
Rick and the others, especially Sasha take his death very hard, and are feeling broken down at this point. I really liked Tyrese, and was hoping that he would have lasted longer. He lasted longer in the books and did not struggle with the same things he struggled with on the show.
The episode displayed some very interesting imagery as events unfolded. Some were hard to understand in the beginning, but by the end it became clear. I think that the presence of the past dead cast members were unnecessary and out of place. I really did not think that the whole episode was going to focus of Tyrese. I really thought that it was going to have a little more direction. I felt that the flow was disjointed and I also did not understand why there were so many commercial breaks. They seemed to have interrupted the show every three minutes and I felt as though it was a reflection of the writer’s lack of direction.
I really hope that things start to mirror the deep complexity that makes up Kirkman’s world.

The Walking Dead season five mid-season finale left me hungry for more.
As we all know last night’s episode of the Walking Dead left fans heartbroken as we saw Beth Greene meet her end.
The episode displayed four view points, Rick’s hospital venture, Michone’s and Gabriel’s church mishap, Beth’s struggle to make sense of Dawn’s madness, and Abraham’s will to bounce back.
At the church Gabriel leaves by exiting under the floor boards in his office. He ventures off to the school where Gareth and his band of psycho’s held Bob captive. He see’s Bob’s cooked leg and then suddenly see’s a group of Walkers inside the school. They burst out in hopes of having Gabriel for a meal. The Walkers follow him straight to the church. He begs for Michone and Carl to let him in. The church is over run within minutes as Michone tries to fight them to the best of her ability, with baby Judith on her back. Carl is worried and asks Michone “where do we go?” as the group of Walkers are locked inside their safe haven.
Abraham appears in the fire truck, along with Maggie, Glen, Rosita and Eugene. They wipe out the Walkers and Michone tells Maggie that Beth is alive and that Rick and the others went to get her.
Meanwhile Back and the hospital Beth gains some new information about the leader Dawn. Rick and Daryl make a plan to make an exchange for the two cops for Beth and Carol. Rick kills one of them in the process and makes an attempt to get Beth and Carol without any more bloodshed.
Beth and Carol get ready. The exchange happens in the hallway of the hospital as Rick and Daryl’s reunion with Beth is brief. Dawn makes a statement to Rick about Noah belonging to her. Beth and the others object to him going back with Dawn, and Dawn states that he wasn’t part of the “deal.” Beth steps up to Dawn and expresses how she feels about her, then stabs her in the upper chest with a pair of scissors that she kept hidden in her arm cast. Dawn’s gun goes off, shooting Beth in the head. Daryl automatically shoots Dawn and Rick’s group is ready for war. One of Dawn’s people stops it before things get worse and says, “it’s over, no more people have to die.”
Riddled with grief, Rick and the group leave the hospital, as they meet Maggie and the others. Maggie’s hope is shattered when she see’s Daryl carrying Beth’s body out. She falls to ground unable to contain herself.
The episode had a lot going on, and I felt that a major character’s death during the mid season finale is getting to be a little predictable. As a fan of the books, I know Kirkman’s world, and I know that major character’s die all the time, but the writing just followed what happened to Hershel last season. I really wanted to see Maggie be reunited with her sister. I have a feeling that with Beth’s death, this will send Maggie off the deep end. At one point in the books, she tries to hang herself from a tree. So I can’t wait to see what the next part of this season has to offer.
I think that Beth made a bad move, trying to stab Dawn, and why wouldn’t she go straight for her throat? I don’t understand that part.
What I also don’t understand is why was Gabriel so stupid? Why would he go out on his own when he has people protecting him. I hate his character on the show. He is more likable in the books. If you hate that you survived, then just let the Walkers eat you and save people the trouble.
My only complaint about the show is that they waste too much time on developing back stories for insignificant characters, and not enough time developing Rick’s story even more. The books really focus on Rick and Carl, and the other characters have a nice balanced involvement. Who cares about Dawn and that group. They really got too much camera time. I’d rather want to know more about Eugene, than Dawn.
I know that Rick and everyone else has a hard time trusting people, so why would he extend another invitation to the hospital crew like he did for the Woodbury people? His decision to let the Terminus people go, bit him in the ass. I wouldn’t trust any other outsiders now.
The special effects were great as usual, I loved seeing the melted Walkers in the hospital courtyard. Visually the effects team always gives us something new and exciting to see. Very creative and unique.

Sunday night’s episode of the Walking Dead is still burning on my mind. Every scene was an exciting adventure that unfolded at every turn.
The whole idea of Terminus was brilliant. I saw several horror movies represented in the one episode, from Saw, to Hostel,to Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but it was done so cleverly. We all assumed that the people of Terminus were cannibals but now we are definitely aware that they are, and that those who arrive don’t survive.
Rick, Glen and Bob are taken to another room where they are about to die, while Gareth and his crew prepare. Back in the train car Michone, Maggie, Carl and the others make homemade weapons so they can defend themselves when the time comes. Meanwhile Carol and Tyreesse are on the road and soon approach a small house. One of the Terminus’ guys are there, and she over hears him on a walkie-talkie discussing a woman with a sword—referencing Michone. Carol demands answers as she threatens to kill him. Tyreesse and Carol tie him up and Carol leaves Tyreesse and Judith with the guy so she can investigate on her own. It doesn’t take long for Carol to make it to Terminus to see first hand what’s going on. She spots Rick being held captive.
Carol goes in with a plan. She uses explosives to do some serious damage to the property. Her one woman army is fierce as she pushes in pretending to be a walker. She picks off a few men in the process and Rick seizes the opportunity as he kills the two men that were about to slit their throats.
An all out war breaks out, Rick rescues his group and they all head out to escape Terminus. Gareth makes a run for it while Carol and Mary go head to head.
Mary is killed and every one is reunited. Rick is determined to go back and kill everyone that is left in Terminus. Abraham and Maggie are not too keen on the idea and they talk Rick out of going back. I think that Rick should have pushed on and convinced the group to go back. Why would they not finish them off? Rick should have reminded them that the governor came back. He came back after four months, what makes them think that the Terminus survivors won’t go after them, especially now that Mary—Gareth’s mother is dead. That was a big mistake.
During the conversation, Carol approaches the group. Daryl spots her and immediately embraces her. The emotional moment that he shares with Carol is one of those unforgettable moments, that even had me choked up. It was the same feeling when Rick found Carl and Lori in season one, episode three.
Rick embraces Carol and asks her “Did you do this?” and she nods her head as she is about to cry in his arms. She regains herself and tells Rick that he has to come with her.
Rick and the others follow Carol back to the little house, and as they approach, Rick sees Tyreesse and Judith waiting on the porch. Rick runs over them, overjoyed with happiness, and filled with shock and relief, Rick holds his daughter for the first time since things went down at the prison. Carl joins them and at this point tears are streaming down my face.
Together again the group heads out on the road as they search for a safe place to live and rebuild their lives in a world that has all the odds against them.
Rick erases the Terminus sign as they are about to leave and the scene closes with a mysterious man following the group’s trail. The man is reveled to be Morgan the person who first took Rick in after he woke up from his Coma. The last time he encountered Rick things didn’t go well. He was clearly out of his mind. But he seems well put together now.
The premiere was one of the best season openings that I have ever seen a show present. The action was intense and as I watched, I felt as though I was one of the characters experiencing the journey. The effects were amazing and every scene drew me in deeper.
I was very surprised to see that the writers completed the Terminus chapter in one episode, considering that Hershel’s farm and the Prison lasted so long. But it is clear that there is a vision—a path that the writers are taking Rick and it is evident that path coincides with the comic books.
I am absolutely loving it, and cant wait to see what happens this Sunday.
